Stevens-Henager College Invites the Public to Free Health Fair at Ogden Campus


One-day event provides health screenings, booths, a blood drive and valuable advice for staying healthy

OGDEN, Utah (August 15, 2013)  —

Stevens-Henager College, a leading provider of higher education, for working adults, is hosting a free health fair from 1 – 5 p.m. on August 21, at its Ogden, Utah campus, 1890 South 1350 West. The event will feature free screenings including test for blood pressure and glucose levels, and a variety of booths by local vendors and health organizations.

“We welcome the community to take advantage of the services and information we’ll be providing at the event,” said Doug Burch, Dean of Students at Stevens-Henager. “We’re able to provide this service annually due to the number of great health care professionals on our faculty who are teaching associate and/or bachelor’s degree programs for nursing, medical specialties, occupational therapy and more.

“The health fair is also a wonderful opportunity to provide real-world experiences for our students who are pursuing careers in the health care industry, one of the fastest-growing occupational areas in the US,” added Burch.

The one-day event will include:

  • Special speakers on diet and nutrition
  • Booths sponsored by organizations in the community including:
    • Weight loss and hormone replacement
    • Pain management
    • Chiropractic care
    • Occupational therapy
    • Massage
    • The United Way
    • The Red Cross
    • Information on bone density testing by Ogden Regional
    • Bach flower therapy and iodine testing
  • A blood drive sponsored by Mountain Star
  • Food samples and pharmacy information from Costco
  • The Life Flight helicopter is scheduled for an appearance
