Eric S. Juhlin
Chief Executive Officer
Eric S. Juhlin is the Chief Executive Officer of Stevens-Henager College.
Mr. Juhlin has focused his entire professional career on making a difference in the higher education field. He began in 1989 as an admissions representative for The Court Reporting Institute of Dallas, and in 1997, became the President/CEO and a shareholder in the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas, developing the college into the largest court reporting school in the U.S.
He has held top leadership positions in all facets of career college operations, and has extensive experience ranging from strategic planning to day-to-day school operations to accreditation practices and compliance procedures. His experience and depth of knowledge in the education arena has been put to the service as chairman for a number of education-focused organizations, including the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, the Career Training Foundation, the Career College Association and the Career College and Schools of Texas.
Mr. Juhlin is passionate about opportunity and access to higher education, and believes that higher education is the most effective means available for people to dramatically improve not only their life but the lives of their family.
Barbara W. Thomas
Chief Operating Officer
Barbara W. Thomas is the Chief Operating Officer of Stevens-Henager College, with executive accountability for the operations and strategic direction at all campuses.
Mrs. Thomas’ progressive career in higher education spans more than 30 years. For 11 years she owned and operated schools in California and Taiwan. In 1993, she sold her schools and became Executive Director for Sawyer College, located in San Jose, California. Beginning in 1996, her experience and ongoing record of achievement made her the natural choice for President of three successively larger college campuses. She was ultimately named Regional Vice President, and became Chief Operating Officer in 2007. During her career, Mrs. Thomas has been a strong advocate and supporter of partnerships with governmental and accrediting agencies and has served as a campus evaluator for accrediting commissions.
Mrs. Thomas believes that the history of growth for her campuses and her own personal success are directly related to her commitment to serving students, colleagues, and the community. She is passionate about Stevens-Henager College and the power of education to improve quality of life.
Vicky L. Dewsnup
President and Regional Director
Vicky L. Dewsnup, President and Regional Director of Stevens-Henager College since 1990, is responsible for oversight of the main Ogden campus, as well as four of the Stevens-Henager branch campuses. Ms. Dewsnup has been a part of the Stevens-Henager family since 1986, when she began as a business and computer instructor at the Ogden campus.
In 1989, Ms. Dewsnup was appointed the Dean of Education of Stevens-Henager. With a focus on student satisfaction and enhanced education outcomes, she directed her efforts as Dean toward improving the quality of instruction by organizing educational staff into student-centered teams and designing and implementing new educational programs.
Ms. Dewsnup moved into her role as President and Regional Director in 1990. She developed the college's bachelor degree programs as well as the registered nursing and surgical technology degree programs, and secured accreditation and approvals from ACICS, ACCSC, CAAHEP, NLNAC and the State of Utah Nursing Board.
She has served on the steering committees for the State of Utah Higher Education Board and as the past Vice President of the Utah Private School Association. In May of 2008, she was honored by the Mattie Wattis Harris Foundation with the "Spirit of the American Woman" award. In April 2007, Utah Business Magazine named her as one of their "30 Women to Watch."
