Empowering students with fundamental education and life skills

SkillsBridge helps each student develop a college-level competence in fundamental grammar, writing and reading comprehension, and basic mathematical and computational skills, complemented with instructions in life skills. The main objective of SkillsBridge is to assist and empower students to stay in school during those first four critical modules of their educational journey, when many students tend to struggle with attendance for a variety of reasons. SkillsBridge consists of a twenty-four (24) week comprehensive suite of instructions which will be administered concurrently with students' regular courses. In addition to the fundamental math and English skills, students will be exposed to a wide variety of "soft skills" and life-skills learning. These include (but are not limited to) job interviewing skills, verbal/non-verbal communication awareness, interpersonal communication competencies, social etiquette, daily computational skills, public speaking, and other expectations for success in personal, social and business settings.
