Idaho Falls Greenbelt Riverwalk

Take in a gorgeous view of the falls that give the city of Idaho Falls its name. The Idaho Falls Greenbelt Riverwalk has several different trails you can walk along to enjoy a light-hearted stroll or a healthy run, all while basking in the presence of the beautiful views found along the bank of the Snake River.

The Riverwalk area is also a popular location for family and engagement photos. With the stunning views of the falls, the floating bridge, and more, there are dozens of perfect places to capture beautiful pictures you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

There are several parks along the Riverwalk, including local memorials, playgrounds, picnic areas, disc golf, and more. There are also restroom facilities you can use in many of the parks.

The Riverwalk hosts the Idaho Falls Rotary Club’s annual Great Snake River Duck Race each year. Race day often includes numerous fun events, including classic car shows, speedboat races, and more. The money raised goes toward maintaining and improving the Riverwalk.

From May through October, you can stop by the Greenbelt Riverwalk to enjoy the Idaho Falls Farmers Market on Saturdays.

Japanese Friendship Garden

As a celebration of the love and goodwill between Idaho Falls and its sister city Tokai-Mura, Japan, a beautiful Japanese Friendship Garden was constructed on a rocky island in the Snake River. Visitors can access the island via a bridge that spans the river.

Enter the area through a traditional Japanese garden gate, and enjoy a walk through the well-kept gardens. Visitors will enjoy viewing several water features, a beautiful lantern that was gifted to Idaho Falls from Tokai-Mura, and the tranquil pond.

The lower deck can be rented for events, including weddings.

ARTitorium on Broadway

Looking for an exciting way to encourage your children’s imagination and creative side? The ARTitorium on Broadway offers educational family fun. This hands-on location offers endless art-related fun for children and their families.

The ARTitorium offers age-appropriate art classes as well as several interactive exhibits. Your kids will enjoy creating their own art with animation stations, green-screen studios, music-composition stations, unique art materials, and more. Older children can also start to learn about influential artists from around the world.

The ARTitorium aims to provide intergenerational experiences with art and creativity. They want to give kids an opportunity to use mess and noise as creative tools.

Idaho Falls Zoo

The Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park is a great place to visit whether you want to bring kids along or visit on your own. This smaller zoo packs a powerful punch with over 120 species represented.

Enjoy seeing some of nature’s most beautiful animals up close. Zoo visitors can tour exhibits featuring lions, bears, penguins, zebras, snow leopards, wallabies, and more. Children will enjoy the petting zoo, which features pigs, sheep, and more. There are even opportunities to feed certain animals.

Reed’s Dairy

Reed’s Dairy is a local favorite and an Idaho Falls tradition. Many former residents of the area claim they can never pass Idaho Falls without making a stop at the store for ice cream, cheese, and milk.

Stop by this local treasure for a delicious glass of milk, handmade ice cream, and other dairy products. If you’re up for a fun day on the farm, you are in for a treat. Visitors can see behind the scenes at the dairy, watch cows get milked, eat picnic lunches, and even spend time with the adorable baby calves.

Reed’s Dairy has been in operation since 1955. The owners of this family farm and business believe in the fresh-from-the-farm approach to food. The milk and dairy products they sell come from their healthy, pampered cows. The family prefers to focus on providing their animals with high-quality feed rather than using artificial hormones to increase growth or milk production.
