Boise, Idaho (February 05, 2013)  — The Boise campus of Stevens-Henager College, a leading provider of on-campus and online higher education, will participate in Idaho's annual Hill Day, Thursday, Feb. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is held at the Idaho State Capitol, located at 700 West Jefferson Street in Boise. Hill Day is an annual event for private, career colleges in Idaho to showcase their programs and students through live demonstrations and one-on-one meetings with Idaho legislators. Health care students from Stevens-Henager College will provide free blood pressure, blood sugar and pulse oximetry screenings for state legislators and capitol employees while campus leaders meet with legislative leadership to discuss Idaho's higher-education landscape and how local colleges prepare Idaho's workforce. Graphic arts and IT students will also be showcasing some of their work. “We give our students every opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom,” said Dr. Helena Hanson, Boise campus director. “Hill Day is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their clinical skills, work with and interact directly with patients and showcase the quality of learning they receive at Stevens-Henager College.” Stevens-Henager College offers more than 50 associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs in health care, business, information technology and graphic arts. Aside from its career-oriented degree programs, Stevens-Henager College has also helped more than 200 students in Boise earn their GED credential through its Good Neighbor Initiative, a program created to strengthen communities by providing free education, training and development opportunities to help all community members improve their lives.
